Peter Schmid handles complex disputes involving contracts, property, construction, employment and local government, at the administrative, trial and appellate levels. Peter advises clients on the appropriate use of alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration. Peter also handles estate planning, probate, and estate administration.
Peter has served as an adjunct professor at Salmon P. Chase College of Law, teaching persuasive legal analysis and writing. He has published articles in the Cincinnati Bar Association journal and the journal for the Homebuilders' Association of Northern Kentucky. From 2000 to 2003, he served as law clerk to the Hon. Dennis S. Helmick, of the Court of Common Pleas in Hamilton County, Ohio.
Some recent results Peter obtained for clients are as follows:
Successfully has defended various clients in Ohio and Kentucky professional appraisal malpractice litigation at the administrative, trial and appellate levels.
Successfully obtained monetary judgment for employer for recovery of unearned sales commissions.
Successfully obtained monetary judgment for vehicle dealer on a contract dispute with purchaser.
Successfully defended a public official from litigation involving Ohio campaign laws.
Successfully assisted client seller of real estate in mediating resolution of a dispute involving oil underground storage tanks.
Peter is active in the following community organizations:
- Board of Trustees for Corryville Catholic School, a Catholic inner-city elementary school in Cincinnati. - St. Margaret of Cortona Catholic Church - St. Thomas More Society of Greater Cincinnati, Red Mass planning committee.
Peter lives in Cincinnati with his wife and three children.
