Angie Gates

Angie is a partner practicing in the areas of commercial finance, real estate, construction, and general corporate law. Angie joined DBL Law in 2002 and is based in the firm’s Northern Kentucky office.

In her commercial finance practice, Angie advises regional and national lending institutions, as well as private and non-profit organizations as borrowers, in a wide array of lending transactions. She has extensive experience with commercial loans, construction loans, real estate loans, bond transactions, participation loans, syndicated loans and other asset-based loans.

Angie’s real estate practice has comprised of multiple aspects of real property law including land development, joint ventures, curing title defect issues, sales and acquisitions, easements, restrictions, leasing, and financing. Representative clients include owners, buyers, developers, and builders. Angie is also a licensed agent of Excel Title Services, the firm’s wholly owned title company, offering efficient and cost-effective customization on complex and large commercial transactions.

In her construction practice, Angie represents owners, designers, and contractors. She negotiates construction contracts, in a variety of formats, for substantial projects in the tri-state area and assists clients in other aspects of the development, as the projects progress.

Angie also assists both large and small organizations in her general corporate practice. She advises clients through asset and stock purchases, company formations and governance, buy-sell agreements, real estate transactions, finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, as well as providing general corporate advice.

Angie is active in the community and has served and continues to serve on a number of charitable and community boards. She currently serves as a member of the board for St. Claire Healthcare, an integrated healthcare system in Morehead, Kentucky. She also serves as a member of the board for UpSpring, a charity focused on serving children in the Greater Cincinnati area who are experiencing homelessness. Angie previously served on the Board of Directors for Family Nurturing Center for nine years. She resides in Erlanger, Kentucky with her husband and two children.
