Emily is a partner in DBL Law’s Estate Planning & Probate group. Emily represents a wide array of clients from individuals and corporations to homeowners and condominium owners associations. She also represents hospitals and nursing homes. Emily is licensed to practice in Kentucky and Ohio, and in the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Divisions of Kentucky. She is an approved ARAG™ Network Attorney.

In her debtor/creditor rights practice, Emily advises creditors in the collection of debts including both consumer and commercial debts owed to clients in fields such as medical, dental, nursing homes, private education, landscaping, banking and owner’s associations.

In her estate and trust practice, Emily provides guidance with estate and trust formation. She also represents administrators/executors in probate matters as well as in disputes involving challenges to wills and trusts.

Emily is the partner in charge of DBL Law’s homeowners associations (HOA) and condominium owners associations (COA) practice.  Emily provides the HOA and COA governing boards with insight and guidance in understanding applicable laws, understanding the governing documents and in understanding the relationship between the associations and the property owners.  Emily works with HOAs and COAs to collect unpaid assessments including the filing of liens for unpaid assessments, collection lawsuits and foreclosures.  Emily also works with associations in drafting governing documents, amendments and opinion letters on the unique issues that arise in the day to day management of associations.

Emily served on the Board of Directors for the Welcome House of Northern Kentucky from 2005 – 2011 and held the position of board chair for 2010-2011. Emily has continued to serve the Welcome House by helping with their capital campaigns.   Emily also served on the Kenton County Library Foundation Board from 2012-2017, and held the position of board chair from 2015-2017.  In addition, Emily previously served as an adjunct faculty member of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where she taught law students trial advocacy skills.  Emily helped raise over $60,000.00 for the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Foundation in honor of her late mother, to benefit women who have or are at high hereditary risk for developing breast cancer.

Emily was elected to the parish Board of Total Catholic Education in 2016 and served as the Board President.  She is also an active volunteer at her church and children’s school, chairing the 2017 and 2018 Summer Festival Live and Silent Auction Committees from 2018-2019 and various other fundraising events.  In addition she served as a Girl Scout Troop leader for 3 years. Emily resides with her husband and their three children.
