Department of Labor Wants Your Feedback on Changes to Overtime Regulations

The Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor is seeking comments about the proposed changes to the overtime regulations that were issued last year and put on hold by a federal court.  The changes were a massive overhaul of the white collar exemptions with one of the biggest changes raising the threshold from $23,660 to $47,476 to be overtime exempt.  After the proposed regulations were issued, there was a backlash from businesses across the country as to the devastating financial impact.  Accordingly, the regulations were halted one week before implementation and have been on hold since.  The DOL is now seeking further comments on the regulations to formulate revisions that will help businesses.  Comments are due on or before September 25, 2017.
